In brief: for a stay in Cambrils, the most convenient base is between La Vila, the old town, and the port neighbourhood: you can reach everything on foot, and there’s a regional train station. If you’re travelling with family or a group, the houses with pools in Vilafortuny, towards Salou, offer more space and parking. The municipality has nine beaches along some 9 km of coast. Among our picks: Vestal Suites Domo Adults Only, Villa Cambrils Mar and Mas de la Maria.

Cambrils is a seaside town on the Costa Daurada, in Baix Camp, around twenty kilometres from Tarragona. Its port is still busy with fishing boats and a fish market, and the rice and seafood restaurants that have made it famous cluster around it.

Choosing where to stay in Cambrils mainly depends on one thing: whether you want to do everything on foot or would prefer a house with a pool and your car right outside. We explain how the municipality is laid out and suggest places to stay that we select one by one.

How to choose an area

Cambrils has two historic centres, a fifteen-minute walk apart, and a stretch of residential areas that extends towards Salou.

  • La Vila: the old town, inland, with the Church of Santa Maria and shopping streets. Hostels and homes in old buildings, with the train station a short walk away.
  • El Port: the fishermen’s neighbourhood, with the fish market, Torre del Port and restaurants facing Regueral and Riera beaches. The liveliest area in summer.
  • Vilafortuny and Cap de Sant Pere: towards Salou, houses and villas with gardens among the pine trees, beside wide beaches with beach bars. Best with a car.

Without a car, stay in La Vila or near the port. With children or a group, a house in Vilafortuny makes the journeys worthwhile.
