San Basilio´s Red House is in central Córdoba, on Calle Terrones, in the historic San Basilio area. The Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba is a seven-minute walk away. The Royal Stables are very close, at 100 m, and the Alcázar of the Christian Monarchs is 200 m away; the city walls are 300 m away. This area makes it easy to walk between courtyards and monuments, with restaurants such as Taberna Casa El Viejo and Mesón Bodega San Basilio 40 m away.
The Calahorra Tower and the Roman Bridge are both 650 m away. The Bullfighting Museum of Córdoba is 330 m away and Casa de Sefarad is 370 m away. Córdoba train station is 1.4 km away, while Córdoba Airport is 5 km away. Further afield, you can visit Medina Azahara, 7 km away. These places make it possible to combine walks around the old town with an excursion outside the city.
A cultural itinerary can include the Alcázar, the Royal Stables and the Roman Bridge, as well as the neighbourhood’s traditional courtyards. In May, the Festival of the Patios opens Córdoba’s courtyards to the public and the city holds its fair; Holy Week also takes place in spring. For outdoor visits during the hottest months, it is practical to start early and leave the middle of the day for museums or indoor spaces. The nearby monuments and cultural events make it possible to plan different days without travelling far from the centre.
